A career spent on both sides of the invoice
Matt began his career in bookkeeping before founding Aftershock IT. He grew the digital agency to a team of 13, then divested it in two stages: the IT division in October 2014 and the web and digital division, Natiive, in March 2020.
In April 2024 he led the acquisition and turnaround of digital agency Fox & Lee, repositioning the business before selling it in 2025.
“AI isn’t making good digital work irrelevant. It is making far more of the traditional agency model optional.”
That exit reflected a blunt conviction: AI was compressing the traditional digital-agency model. Work that once required an agency—building a credible website, producing campaigns and running day-to-day marketing—was becoming faster, cheaper and more accessible to business owners themselves. Rather than defend the old model, Matt chose to move early into applied AI and automation.
Today he is the founder of Momentuum, an AI and business-process automation consultancy helping businesses remove repetitive work from lead follow-up, appointment booking, customer communication and operations.
